Pottery studios in Houston, Texas

Houston's pottery scene is spread across the Heights, Montrose, EaDo, and the Museum District. Prices are friendly: drop-in wheel from $50, six-week courses from $250-375. The scene leans beginner-heavy with strong date-night and birthday-party programming. Hand-building drops in with no experience required; wheel throwing usually involves a short intro session first. Memberships with kiln access are increasingly available as the local maker community grows. Kids programs are easy to find year-round, with summer camps in the Heights and Museum District. The Houston scene is less craft-formal than Austin's, but it has grown quickly and now supports several studios with real multi-level wheel curricula. For a casual evening, target a Friday-night BYOB session in the Heights or Montrose.
