Oklahoma City's pottery scene is concentrated in the Plaza District, Midtown, Paseo Arts District, Bricktown, and out in Edmond and Norman. Prices are unusually friendly: drop-in classes from $35, six-week courses from $200-300. The community draws on the OU ceramics program in nearby Norman and the broader Oklahoma craft tradition, with several studios offering multi-level wheel curricula at prices well below the coasts. Memberships with kiln access are widely available and affordable. Hand-building drops in easily; wheel throwing usually requires the intro class first. Date-night and drop-in classes are common in the Plaza and Paseo districts. Kids programs run year-round at the community art centers. For longer study, the Plaza, Paseo, and Norman studios offer the deepest multi-level progression.
