Bozeman's pottery scene is small but craft-serious for a town of 55,000, anchored by the Montana State University ceramics program and the broader Northern Rockies craft tradition. Studios cluster downtown, in the North 7th arts district, and out toward Belgrade. Prices are mid-market: drop-in classes from $45, six-week courses from $250-375. Several studios are run by MSU graduates teaching multi-level wheel curricula. Memberships with kiln access are available but limited and waitlisted. Hand-building drops in easily; wheel throwing usually requires the intro class first. Date-night and drop-in classes are common downtown. Kids programs run year-round at the community art centers, with strong summer camps. For longer study, the downtown and North 7th studios offer the deepest progression and best access to the broader Montana ceramics community.
