Boise's pottery scene runs through the North End, the Boise Bench, downtown, and out in Garden City and Meridian. Prices are friendly: drop-in classes from $40, six-week courses from $225-325. The community is craft-serious thanks to Boise State ceramics, with several studios offering multi-level wheel curricula and visiting-artist workshops. Memberships with kiln access are widely available and unusually affordable. Hand-building drops in easily; wheel throwing usually requires the intro class first. Date-night and drop-in classes are common in the North End and downtown. Kids programs run year-round at the community art centers, with strong summer camps. The scene has grown quickly with Boise's expanding maker community and now supports several studios with real multi-level progression. For longer study, the North End and Garden City studios have the deepest curricula.
