Bend's pottery scene is small but disproportionately active for a town of 100,000, anchored by the broader Central Oregon craft and outdoor-arts tradition. Studios cluster in the Old Mill District, downtown, and along the Box Factory arts corridor. Prices are mid-market: drop-in classes from $50, six-week courses from $275-425. The community runs craft-serious with several studios offering multi-level wheel curricula, wood firings, and visiting-artist workshops. Memberships with kiln access are widely available but waitlisted at the popular Box Factory studios. Hand-building drops in easily; wheel throwing usually requires the intro class first. Date-night and drop-in classes are common in the Old Mill and downtown. Kids programs run year-round at the community art centers. For longer study, the Box Factory and downtown studios offer the deepest progression.
