Salt Lake City's pottery scene is concentrated in Sugar House, the 9th and 9th neighborhood, downtown, and out in Holladay and Millcreek. Prices are friendly: drop-in classes from $45, six-week courses from $250-375. The community is craft-serious thanks to the University of Utah ceramics program and the broader Intermountain West studio-craft tradition. Several studios offer multi-level wheel curricula and member kiln access. Date-night and drop-in classes are common in Sugar House and downtown. Kids programs run year-round, with strong summer camps in Holladay and Millcreek. The scene is less craft-formal than Portland or Seattle, but it has grown quickly and now supports several studios with real multi-level progression. For longer study, the Sugar House and downtown studios offer the deepest curricula.
