Pottery studios in Savannah, Georgia

Savannah's pottery scene is concentrated in the Starland District, Thomas Square, and the Downtown Historic District, with several studios connected to or anchored by the SCAD ceramics program. Prices are mid-market for the region: drop-in classes from $50, six-week courses from $275-400. The community runs younger and craft-serious thanks to SCAD's influence, with several studios offering rigorous wheel curricula and visiting-artist workshops alongside the standard beginner programming. Date-night and tourist workshops are easy to find downtown; memberships with kiln access are increasingly available in Starland and Thomas Square. Kids programs run year-round at the larger studios. For longer study, the SCAD-adjacent studios offer multi-level progression that beats most cities of Savannah's size; for a casual afternoon, the downtown studios are walkable from the historic squares.
