Pottery studios in Hartford, Connecticut

Hartford's pottery scene is small but consistent, with studios concentrated in West Hartford center, Parkville, and out in New Britain and Wethersfield. Prices are mid-market: drop-in classes from $45, six-week courses from $250-375. The community is anchored by the broader Connecticut craft tradition and the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, with several studios offering multi-level wheel curricula and visiting-artist workshops. Memberships with kiln access are available but limited. Hand-building drops in easily; wheel throwing usually requires the intro class first. Date-night and drop-in classes are common in West Hartford and Parkville. Kids programs run year-round at the community art centers. For longer study, the West Hartford and New Britain studios have the deepest curricula.
